MEET THE FOUNDER

Katie Duarte MSc, ODCP, CTDP

I'm Katie, the Founder of Action Potential Solutions. We help organizations enhance their effectiveness by taking a fresh approach to feedback.

My passion for improving feedback in organizations started while conducting research in the area of feedback dynamics for my master's degree in Organizational Psychology. The results of my research have driven me to approach feedback from the lens of both the giver and receiver of feedback.

Having certifications in Training & Development and Organization Development, I offer a holistic approach that includes skill development and optimizing the organizational environment to better support effective feedback practices.

Why Feedback?

Effective feedback plays an integral role in organizational effectiveness and yet many organizations still struggle with achieving successful outcomes from feedback.
Key aspects of an organization's success, such as the ability to effectively navigate change, to innovate, to engage employees so they're not just putting in the time but the effort as well, and many more shown in the image here, depend on effective feedback skills and processes.

Most of us intuitively understand the importance of feedback. However many are also quick to admit that it's something they struggle with.

Traditional approaches to feedback in organizations have been focused on developing the skills of leaders and high potential employees in the area of giving feedback. But this fails to address its dyadic nature, meaning that it takes two.
Reframing feedback to view it through the lens of both the giver and the receiver helps to improve results, create mutual accountability for the outcome, increase connection and trust and ultimately serves to improve organizational effectiveness.

"What I love about Katie's approach is that it's disruptive. Having worked for large companies throughout my career, I can honestly say that I've never seen the importance of feedback framed in this manner nor the acknowledgement of a key variable: placing equal importance on both the giver and the receiver of feedback."
